Utilizing its proprietary GMMI methodology, Zenius performed a comprehensive evaluation of commercial and government-off-the-shelf solutions that provided strategic recommendations, and a modernization roadmap tailored to DoED’s future grants management needs.
IRS: Zenius supported the IRS in its IT modernization effort by assisting in the development and production support of the Integrated Resource Planning System (IRPS), focusing on transitioning from legacy mainframe technologies to modern platforms. Our team contributed expertise in both Java server-based technologies and mainframe systems, enabling a smooth transition from mainframe systems to more scalable cloud-read architectures. Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA): Zenius supported the DMDC and DLA on the Defense Information Systems for Security (DISS) program, which modernizes personnel security and suitability processes across the DoD. Our work included Program Management Office (PMO) and Independent Validation & Verification (IV&V) support, as well as infrastructure and enterprise architecture services. Leveraging Agile methodologies, AWS cloud hosting, and DevOps practices, we contributed to the development and management of a secure, scalable IT system designed to replace JPAS and enhance efficiency, interoperability, and security across the federal personnel security ecosystem.
Department of Education (DoED): Zenius led a BPR and digital transformation study to address DoED’s grants operations challenges and define a forward-looking vision. This engagement included developing a pragmatic modernization roadmap and architectural framework anchored by the Education Grants Platform (EGP). This along with a rationalization study of 24 grant systems and tools resulted in concrete recommendations and a detailed rationalization roadmap.
Department of Education (DoED): Zenius provided PMO, IV&V, and governance support for the Grants Modernization Initiative at DoED. This initiative included overseeing the development of the EGP, securing ATO, and establishing onboarding procedure to migrate legacy grants systems to the new platform.
